Alisa Rantanen, Designer at Insight, was recently named the IDSA Midwest District Conference Midwest Merit Award winner.
Alisa received her BFA in Industrial Design from Notre Dame University in May 2013. During her last semester, she represented Notre Dame’s design program at the IDSA Midwest District Conference and was named the Midwest Merit Award winner – earning recognition as one of the top five graduating industrial designers in the country. She received the actual award this past week at the IDSA International Conference here in Chicago.
“Notre Dame has a tradition of winning these conferences,“she says, “so I was proud to be a part of that but also felt a bit of pressure from these other schools to perform well. At the end I was declared the winner, which was a huge relief and a huge honor. It’s the perfect way to end the year – I couldn’t be happier about it.“
Alisa interned at Insight during the summer of 2012 and is now a full-time employee. We are very excited to have her on board!
