Reliance Medical

Reliance, a market leader in the design and manufacture of the ophthalmic exam chairs built a “concept” car product that was not designed to go into production. Insight set out, isolating the individual mechanical systems to develop sub-assemblies with performance and manufacturing in mind, but maintained the original design language intent established in the original concept. One of the mechanical innovations was the development of a new to the world proroptor support arm.

Reliance chose Insight as an important partner in the effort to convert our vision into a reality. Combining the long term experience of Reliance Medical Products and the space age engineering of Insight, Xoma was born and demonstrated to an international marketplace.

ivWatch

iVWatch, a medical device startup, sought out a partnership with Insight to develop and industrialize the potential of their infiltration sensor technology. Together, they developed a continuous monitoring solution to aid in the early detection of peripheral IV infiltration. This solution ensures accurate delivery of medication and reduces drug dosing errors in adults and pediatric patients.

Insight proved to be a very collaborative and flexible development resource. Our product benefited greatly from their skill in merging technical, user experience and commercial requirements into an integrated design for the Model 400. Since completion of the Model 400, we have re-engaged them multiple times for additional work to help define how the platform might grow and evolve.

Innoblative

An Insight Accelerator Labs member since (?), Innoblative received FDA approval for their surgical device this year. This is the first spherical radio-frequency ablation device for intraoperative large surface area ablation and coagulation. Innoblative engaged our UI teams to assist in designing the unit and timer as well as our Human Factors team to execute all the summative testing in order to submit to the FDA.
