Raleigh's Open House Shows off New Space and Staff Creativity

February 2, 2009 - Six months after officially moving in, Insight's Raleigh office introduced the new space to clients and friends at an open house on January 29th. The staff and the partners from all of Insight's offices were on hand to greet clients and show them the new environment.

“We are very touched that so many of our clients came to our open house,” said Anthony Annibale, partner and general manager of the Raleigh office. “Our good client relationships are the main reason for our success, and we thank them for supporting us at the open house.”

Clients from the region that stopped by included Alcatel-Lucent, BD TriPath, Caterpillar, John Deere, Nacco Materials Handling Group, Oriel Therapeutics, Parata, Sony Ericcson and SunTech Medical. Many other companies had a representative there and everyone had a chance to see where the project work takes place, commenting on how the 10,500 square foot loft-style office inspires innovation and creativity.

While the open house featured plenty of refreshments and chatter, the highlight of the evening was the design contest. The Insight staff competed against each other to see who could create the most interesting "i", a five inch sculpture from the Insight logo “i” that could be decorated however the person wanted, with the only rules being it must be still recognized as an i and fit into a 12 x 12" space.

The i's ran the gamut, from Karate Kid inspired design to a rock climbing "i". Luckily Insight had unbiased eyes judge the contest. Kelly Flanders, director of the Flanders Art Gallery, Holly Aiken from Raleigh boutique Stitch and photographer Michael Back were able to narrow down the field to four winners.

Most creative went to Craig Scherer, senior partner, with his sci-fi design called "Steam Punk'd." Designer Maria Lalli won best execution with her beautiful rolled paper design. Insight's System Administrator Joshua Conboy won an honorable mention with his Lego work and the People's Choice was Designer Margaret Butler's blinged ball and chain. Those were the official winners, but there were three designs that caught the eye of the partners. Engineer Roy Attride's Pez-inspired design, Engineer David Milton's Insight Logo with spinning top and Designer Zenu Lu's interesting melted paint-by-numbers motif were awarded “Partner's Choice.”
