When a recent client decided to improve the compliance of diabetic teenagers and how they test their glucose levels, they asked Insight to guide them through the difficult process of designing a new glucose meter that better supported teenager’s emotional needs. Teenagers are very aware of their own self-image, yet those with diabetes must carry their glucose meters around with them at all times, a constant reminder of the condition they live with and something that might draw unwanted attention from peers.
